Publix Shopping Tips

These are Tips for Publix Shopping borrowed from www.southernsavers.com
She matches coupons for you on the Sale items to help you with your shopping plan.

1. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items to get the sale price
2. If you do buy 2 items that are B1G1 make sure you use 2 coupons to get the best deal
3. Publix accepts competitors coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon and a Publix coupon too)
4. You can use a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item
5. Most Publix locations double manufacturer coupons that are .50¢ or less

**1 & 5 do not apply to Florida stores**

*If there is any coupon that you have a question about, ask your store's mgr or customer service dept before shopping.

Note: What makes Publix shopping so GRAND is they have Buy 1 Get 1 Items on Sale each week. If you primarily buy Publix Sale items matched with coupons, you are saving anywhere from 50-100% on each item.

*Note - Did a LOT better this time. Notice on the Sambucel Cold medicine, Colgate toothpaste and the Styling Gel, I used Walgreen coupons and Manufacture Coupons and got ALL those products for FREE! And along with Walgreen's Register Rewards, I had great coupons on the Huggies 2 packs of Diapers, so I got them for FREE! Any questions, please ask.

March FREE items from Drugstores

This is a picture of an assortment of products I got FREE at drugstores in just 2 weeks!

WalGreen's 3/9/09

From what I have learned, when there is a Diaper sale, you RUN, you do not walk!
Even if you don't have kids, do the deal once to have on hand for baby shower gifts.
I bought alot of Cokes for my Scrapbook Retreat that I was hosting at the end of March.

1-Walgreen's Headache tablets $ 2.99 - $ 2.99 Walgreen's Rebate = FREE
2-Excedrin Menstral Relief tablets $ 5.99 ea = $ 11.98 - (2) $ 4 Walgreen's coupons - (2) $ 2 MQ = FREE
8-12 packs of cokes $ 3.25 ea = $ 26 - $ 6 RR = $ 20 ($ 2.50 a 12 pk)
3-packs of Huggies refill wipes $ 6 ea x 3 = $ 18 - (3) $ .50 MQ = $ 16.50
4-packs Huggies Diapers $ 10 ea x 4 = $ 40 - (3) $ 1.50 MQ - $ 3 MQ = $ 32.50
2-packs of Pullup's $ 10 ea x 2 = $ 20 - (2) $ 2 MQ = $ 16
- $ 30 RR for 3 Diaper/Wipes Deals (Deal was, Buy $ 25 in Huggies products, get $ 10 RR)

Total $ 118.97
-$ 2.99 + (10%) $ 3.29 Walgreen's Rebate
- $ 36 Walgreen's Register Rewards
- $ 25 MQ or Walgreen's Coupons
NEW Total $ 54.68

**Note: Notice on the Excedrin, I used 2 types of coupons. The RULE is you can use a store coupon (Walgreen's) and a MQ (Manufacturer Coupon) on the same product. This is called STACKING. You can do this at any drug store or Kroger or Publix with their store's coupons.

**Important Note: Most Walgreen and CVS deals say 1 coupon printed per offer or per household. This means if you can do 3 deals, you will have to get each deal rung up as 3 different transactions to get the RR to print for each. Also, important, if you complete 1 deal and get a
$ 10 RR, you can't do the 2nd deal and use the $ 10 RR to help pay for your transaction, BECAUSE the rule is - you can't use RR from 1 deal to pay for the same deal in the next transaction. It will NOT print a new RR for your current deal if you use the diaper RR from the last transaction. Now if you earned a RR from the cokes deal, you could use it for helping pay for the diaper deal. (Just using the diaper deal as an example) Are you confused yet? It will take a few shopping trips to get it right, but I'm here to help. Always ask your store's mgr to credit and re-do the transaction if you don't get it right the first time.

1-Tide detergent $ 5.99 - $ 1 RR = $ 4.99

2-Clorox wipes $ 2.50 ea x 2 = $ 5 - $ 3.79 MQ for 1 free Clorox wipes, was a get 1 free when buy 2, cashier deducted original cost of wipes, not sale price = $ 1.21 (.605 each)

2-4oz Colgate $ 1.79 ea x 2 = $ 3.58 - 2 Walgreen's coupons $ 1.79 each = FREE

-Had $ 6 MQ for 6 -Johnson & Johnson products I bought for $ 3.36 ea., deal didn't print RR so I returned products next day, Kroger had sale going on for $ 2.50 ea, so decided to re-buy there. When WalGreen's returned items, they didn't adjust for coupons, so $ 6 remained off my total.

__________

Total $ 44.62
-Earned $ 10.50 in Walgreen's Register Rewards
-Earned $ 9.98 + (10%) $ 1 in Walgreen's Rebate - will receive rebate check at beginning of April
-$ 10.79 MQ
-$ 5.18 Walgreen's coupons

Total for Products $ 7.17

__________

* Note - RR is Register Rewards that print at the end of the transaction when purchasing the products. You can use these in Walgreen's as cash when you purchase other products or use them at Publix as a MQ (Manufacture Coupon). Ask your local Publix if they accept Walgreen's Register Receipts as coupons. You can submit Walgreen's rebates online from info from your receipt. At the end of the month, request your rebate check OR request your rebates in the form of a Walgreen's Gift Card and they add 10% to your total! FREE money! **FYI, Walgreen's last month for Rebates is April, so try to get some good deals this month and earn 10% extra.
** Another Note - You may think I did good this trip, I could have done SOOO much better. This was only my 2nd experience "working the deals", so what I learned is this. You can break up your purchases in several transactions, so that when you earn RR, you can use it to purchase the products in your next transaction without having to pay OOP (out of pocket) for items. Also, since I was starting with only 1 Sunday's paper, I didn't have many coupons, but now only a month later, I have a coupon for every product I bought this trip, so I could have gotten ALL these products for about $ 2.50!!! Learning each trip!

1st experience - Trip to Rite Aid 3/6/09

1-Ocean Nasal Rinse $ 8.99
1-Snore Stop Extinguisher - $ 12.99
1-Soothe Eye Drops - $ 7.49 - found a $ 3 peelie on box! = $ 4.49
1-Novitra Cold Sore Medicine - $ 7.99 - $ 3 Rite Aid coupon printed off internet = $ 4.99
1-Snore Stop Fast Tablets - $ 8.99
1-Sinus Buster - $ 8.99
- $ 5 off $ 25 Rite Aid coupon printed off internet
Total with tax - $ 48.32
All products part of Rite Aid's Monthly Rebate Program - will receive a check from Rite Aid for Total of $ 55.44 (cost of products before coupons!) at beginning of April = Profit of $ 7.12 + ALL these products for FREE
_______________________________________________
*Note - this was my FIRST trip out trying all of this COUPONING/DRUG STORE DEALS (Thanks to Debbie Hudson and her friend Sonya for teaching me how to get started!) . I learned later that these are monthly deals, so I didn't have to run out and buy all of this at the first of the month. Now, I could have submitted this receipt the same night and received the check soon after, but I was taught to wait until the end of the month in case I wanted to do another deal. Rite Aid only issues a rebate check ONCE per month. Another tip, these rebates are entered online from info from your receipt, NO need to mail original receipts as proof of purchase! But PLEASE hold onto your receipts until you receive your check in the mail in case your check is the wrong amount. You DO have to tell Rite Aid online that you want your check to be issued though, they don't do it automatically.
